How to File a Petition with the PAB
Any person who is claiming to be affected adversely by GAO action or inaction that is within the Board’s jurisdiction may file a Petition. In most circumstances, in order to file a Petition with the PAB, a party must first file a Charge with the Personnel Appeals Board Office of General Counsel (PAB/OGC).
Anyone wishing to file a Petition must meet one of the following criteria:
- Received a Right to Petition Letter from PAB/OGC within the last 30 days; or
- At least 180 days have elapsed from the filing of the charge with the PAB/OGC and have not received a Right to Petition Letter; or
- Was separated due to a Reduction in Force within the last 30 days.
Individuals meeting one of the above criteria can download and complete a Petition Form and send it to pab@gao.gov.
Petitioners and their representatives are urged to download and review the Board’s Local Rules and 4 C.F.R. Part 4.
